Rotto Ramble 2018

Are you ready for a challenge? Join us at Rotto Ramble - A medical challenge for junior doctors and medical students.

Test your medical skills and knowledge responding to life-threatening medical emergencies on the beaches and tourist hot spots of Rottnest Island. Work as a team to diagnose, stabilise and save the lives of the 'casualties' under the guidance of specialist emergency physicians from the State's top emergency departments.

This practical and unique event features:
  • A strong focus on implementation and participation. many of the skills and knowledge gained will be applicable to dealing with emergencies that may occur in real life.
  • An event facilitated by experienced emergency physicians and educators with expertise in wilderness medicine training.
  • Teamwork and leadership skills development and a chance to learn how you respond to stress and uncertainty.
  • Competitive camaraderie as you work with your team to manage staged emergencies that you may face in your medical career.

Registration fee: $400 per person

Inclusions:
  • Two-day education program - facilitation and upskilling
  • Accommodation - chalet for two nights (Friday and Saturday)
  • Return ferry tickets (group booking at specified times)
  • All meals during event weekend
  • Bicycle hire
  • Event materials
  • Rotto Ramble drink bottle
  • Rotto Ramble backpack

Fitness

All participants will be riding bicycles for the duration of the event, with up to 20 kilometres covered each day. Although the island is relatively flat, the activities may require average or above fitness.
