A one day primer course focused on the first ten minutes of emergency paediatric care. The Paediatric Life Support (PLS) Course covers the basics of emergency paediatric management, using the structured approach as taught on the three day Advanced Paediatric Life Support (APLS) Course. Consistent with the latest clinical practice in Australia and New Zealand, information is presented in lectures, workshops, practical sessions and hands on emergency scenarios over a single day. All PLS instructors are leading practitioners in the field of paediatric care. Candidates also receive a comprehensive manual, and are tested on key components.

Course Content:
• Basic Life Support
• Airway management
• Cardiac Rhythm recognition and defibrillation
• Preparing and planning post resuscitation care
• Recognition of the seriously injured and seriously ill child
