It will provide a basic understanding on the considerations for serial casting and turtle bracing, as well as a practical introduction to these casting methods.
Learning objectives:
• Understanding the anatomy and pathophysiology contributing to toe walking.
• Understand the elements and considerations for a holistic assessment of toe walking.
• Know when physiotherapy intervention is needed verse when involving other staff or referring is necessary.
• Considerations for intervention options, escalation of intervention – working up the scale.
• Basic introduction to turtle brace verse serial casting verse carbon fibre footplate interventions.

The course is designed for physiotherapists at all levels working with children who present as toe walkers. Priority will be given to those working in the Pilbara. For further information regarding this education event please contact Alisha Small on email: [email protected]
