Building on the success of previous workshops and online modules you are invited to strengthen your skills, confidence, and care in managing your patient’s depression and suicidality.  Join peers and facilitators (Psychiatrist and local GP with special interest in mental health care) for a two-hour interactive, case-based discussions. Evening professional development with meal provided.

  • General Practitioners
  • GP Registrars
  • Clinicians within Aboriginal Medical Services (AMS)
  • Hospital based general practitioners
  • Medical students and
  • Other health professionals directly involved in mental health care

Presentation/Discussion

Managing Depression and Suicidality: GP Peer Learning will offer:

  • direct, in person Q&A and discussions with an experienced psychiatrist;
  • practical strategies for managing complex mental health presentations based on local clinical experiences;
  • Increased confident is assessment and prescribing decisions; and
  • Up-to-date information on local referral pathways and services.

This session can be paired with GP Management of Patient Depression and Suicidality online modules but is not a prerequisite.

Accreditation is pending with RACGP and ACRRM.
