Each year, Majarlin Kimberley Centre for Remote Health hosts its Supervisor Appreciation Awards to acknowledge the outstanding contribution of workplace supervisors who guide and support students on placement across the region.

The word Majarlin means “coming back” in Yawuru, a fitting reflection of the lasting impact the Kimberley has on those who experience it.

The centre’s logo, featuring a fingerprint, symbolises this connection and is a reminder that the Kimberley leaves its mark on everyone who comes here. In fact, statistics show that many allied health students who complete placements in the region through Majarlin do “come back” as qualified health professionals.

This year’s awards, held in both Kununurra and Broome, were a vibrant celebration of community, connection and excellence in health education.

A fabulous group of allied health professionals were recognised across a range of categories, including the Above and Beyond Award (Nurses & Midwives), Outstanding Student Support Award (Nurses & Midwives), Outstanding Student Support Award (Allied Health), Thumbprint Award (Allied Health), Thumbprint Award (Nurses & Midwives), Clinical Preceptor Excellence Award, Clinical Supervisor Excellence Award, Community Partnership Recognition, and Community Partnership Award.
