Come along for an educational event surrounding your own mental health, wellbeing and self-care. A mid-year mental health check in and rest. An interactive session focusing on strategies to maintain wellbeing and flourish in the year ahead.

Presented by Dr Des Taverner, Rural Generalist and Senior Lecturer at The University of Western Australia. Des trained in South Africa and after delivering approximately 20 babies a day, switched gears to fuel her adrenaline on a busy trauma unit instead. She later worked in psychiatry in the UK. Now settled in Broome, Des enjoys the breadth and diversity of clinical work. She worked as an ED doctor and obstetric proceduralist for seven years, and spent the past nine years as a rural GP in private practice. Des’s passions are giving medical students a transformational experience of country medicine and helping people develop strategies to maintain good mental health.

Located at the Rural Clinical School Training Hub, 1/46 Dampier Tce (near the Kennedy Hill Lookout), 7 AM – 8 AM (please arrive from 6.45 AM). Please note the change of date to Thursday 19 June 2025.

A light breakfast will be included!

This is a free event for all members. Click here to join the Kimberley Health Professionals Network (membership is free). Make sure you sign up, places are limited.
