Join experienced GPs Dr Nicholas McLernon and Dr Shobana Krishnan from Shenton Park, Perth for an insightful session focused on the unique challenges health professionals face in caring for themselves.
Nicholas also works with the Doctors’ Health Advisory Service WA, bringing valuable insight into professional wellbeing and support systems.
Key topics include:

  • What to do when AHPRA gets in touch
  • Navigating care when other health professionals become your clients or patients
  • How to be a ‘good patient’ when you’re also a healthcare provider

Together they’ll explore practical strategies for maintaining boundaries, understanding confidentiality, and accessing
support, especially when working alongside colleagues in a close-knit health community

Wheatbelt Health Professionals Network | Melanoma Diagnosis: Dermoscopy, Total Body Photography, Serial Imaging, and Confocal Microscopy | Northam

This event will discuss how dermoscopy improves diagnostic accuracy and reduces unnecessary excisions compared with clinical examination alone. Modern melanoma diagnosis extends beyond single-lesion assessment. Total body photography and sequential digital dermoscopy monitoring allow us to detect new and subtly changing lesions over time – catching melanomas earlier while leaving stable, benign lesions untouched. The combination of these tools increases sensitivity and specificity and are cost-effective in high-risk patients.
