Communications Officer | Nedlands, Perth WA (Hybrid) | Full time | $80,000-$85,000 per year, plus superannuation, with tax-free salary packaging options available
The role
We are seeking a hands-on Communications Officer who can proactively identify storytelling opportunities, create engaging content across multiple channels, and support the delivery of strategic communications that strengthen Rural Health West’s brand and impact.
Key responsibilities:
- Develop articles for a variety of media outlets and purposes.
- Identify, research and develop media opportunities for a variety of audiences across a broad range of subject matters.
- Manage media enquiries, including preparing briefing notes for internal spokespeople.
- In collaboration with the General Manager, Communications and Business Analytics prepare and deliver media training for key staff.
- Source appropriate imagery and video content to support articles.
- Develop content for advertisements, brochures and publications.
- Proofread documents for grammar, accuracy and intent.
To be successful in this role you will have:
- Outstanding written communication skills, with the ability to generate effective and interesting content.
- Experience in and ability to conduct interviews and research to generate media articles and case studies.
- Experience with both proactive and reactive media relations.
- Ability to work quickly and meet deadlines.
- Ability to identify and take advantage of opportunities for compelling story-telling.
- Ability to work with minimal supervision, show initiative and work productively within a team environment.
- Strong interpersonal skills with confidence to pitch ideas, provide advice and negotiate with internal clients.
- Willingness to contribute to a positive workplace culture.
- Valid Australian work visa or eligibility to work in Australia.

Human Resources Advisor | Nedlands, Perth WA (Hybrid) | Part time (0.4 FTE) | Competitive salary, with tax-free salary packaging options available
The role
We are seeking a hands-on Human Resources Advisor to join our team for a 12-month fixed term contract. This part time role offers an opportunity to work closely with all levels of the organisation as a trusted advisor. Reporting to the HR Manager, you will support the Executive and Operational Managers while contributing to the wide range of HR functions.
Key responsibilities:
- Supporting the Human Resource function, providing practical HR and Employee Relations advice to managers and staff.
- Providing advice on award and employment legislation and ensuring compliance with Fair Work legislation and relevant awards.
- Assisting with performance management and conduct issues, grievance/complaints including Whistleblower complaints.
- Assisting with the recruitment and onboarding of new staff, including supporting the preparation of employment contracts.
- Supporting engagement and retention initiatives; HR project and roll out of Staff engagement survey action plans.
- Review existing and develop new organisational policies and procedures, ensure contemporary best practice is maintained.
- Supporting Learning and Development needs and initiatives.
To be successful in this role you will have:
- Tertiary degree in Human Resource or related discipline or a diploma in HR.
- Demonstrated experience in a HR generalist or advisory role.
- Strong knowledge of Australian employment legislation and awards.
- Highly developed interpersonal skills and communication skills.
- Valid Australian work visa or eligibility to work in Australia.

Administration Support Officer | Nedlands, Perth WA (Hybrid) | Casual | $40 – $45 per hour
We are recruiting an Administration Support Officer to provide administrative and secretarial support to Rural Health West’s inaugural Aboriginal Advisory Committee. The Committee has been established to support genuine partnership with Aboriginal people and ensuring Aboriginal voices and lived experience inform work to improve health outcomes across the state. The Committee will provide cultural expertise and strategic advice to the Rural Health West Board and staff to ensure programs and future initiatives are informed by Aboriginal knowledge, perspectives and lived experience. The role will provide administration support to the Committee, with key tasks including the preparation and dissemination of meeting documents, travel bookings and general administration support to the Committee Chairperson and members.
Casual – Three year period
- Casual – attendance at quarterly meetings (Face to face and video-conference) with secretariat requirements pre and post meetings, plus ad-hoc tasks as required.
- Central location in Nedlands, Western Australia (hybrid work options available).
- Competitive remuneration – from $40-45 per hour (including casual loading) + plus pro rata superannuation.
To be successful in this role you will have:
- Strong organisation and time management skills, with ability to prioritise tasks.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Proficient in Microsoft office suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint and Teams).
- Able to work independently and as part of a team.

- Valid Australian work visa or eligibility to work in Australia.
