Supporting rural health families

Looking after the wellbeing of the rural health workforce and their families

We acknowledge the importance of family in the lives of rural health professionals. By offering support to families living and working in rural Western Australia, the Family Program helps ensure health professionals and their families feel connected, valued and equipped to thrive in their communities. Through the program, families can access:

Health and wellbeing

Access to personal, clinical and professional support services.

Financial support

Partner Education Grants – to assist partners of rural WA health professionals with study or training opportunities. For more information, including eligibility and online application, can be found on the Partner Education Grants page.

  • Travel support – for an immediate family member who wishes to accompany their health professional partner or parent to Perth when attending specific Rural Health West conferences and awards. Social connection

Family-friendly activities are delivered in the regions to help new and existing families establish and build friendships and support networks.
