The WA Rural Health Long Service Awards are delivered in partnership with the WA Country Health Service to honour and celebrate the remarkable dedication of general practitioners and medical specialists who have served the rural communities of Western Australia for over 20 years.

Since 2008, Rural Health West has proudly hosted the annual WA Rural Health Awards (formerly known as the WA Country Doctors Awards), celebrating the outstanding contributions of health professionals working in rural areas. These awards not only recognise long-standing service but also highlight excellence in rural health care.

In 2017, the WA Country Health Service joined forces with Rural Health West to further acknowledge the unwavering commitment and exceptional service of our rural health professionals. Together, we pay tribute to those who have devoted their careers to ensuring that rural and remote communities have access to quality health care.

Nominations are not required for this category. Long Service Award recipients are identified through the Rural Health West database and are notified personally. To be presented an award at the 2026 ceremony, recipients must have achieved the required years of service by 1 January 2026.
