This education workshop is proudly delivered by Rural Health West in partnership with WA Country Health Service.

TIDE focuses on training health care professionals in using trauma-informed knowledge and practice to increase de-escalation skills with the purpose of reducing violence in healthcare and social service settings and foster restorative practices.

In a single face-to-face session, participants learn practical techniques for de-escalation of clients or patients displaying distress through aggression — all through a complex trauma-informed lens. Participants practice these strategies in a safe, simulated environment, where they can build confidence in real-time behaviour escalation responses.

The TIDE training will take course over one day and uses virtual reality (VR) and artificial intelligence (AI) to allow for a more immersive experience for those undergoing the training.

Eligibility: All health care providers are able to attend this workshop

Length: One day  8.00am – 4.00pm

Cost:$100.00

Payment Structure

You will receive an email link for payment in an event confirmation email 6-8 weeks prior to the workshop, if successful. Payment is required within 10 days of receiving the email. If full payment is not received within 10 days, your place will be offered to another delegate.

Cancellation Policy
  • Applicants who give notice of cancellation of four (4) weeks or more will receive a full refund of the workshop registration fee.
  • Applicants who withdraw from the workshop on or 14 days prior will receive a 50% refund of the workshop registration fee.
  • Applicants who fail to attend the workshop or who withdraw from the workshop less than 14 days of the workshop date are not eligible for a refund.
