Breakfast Education Series: Sex for Breakfast

Join Bronwyn Cutler (Sexologist) and Leonie Mills (Women’s Health Physiotherapist) for an informative breakfast about women’s mental health, sexual health, perimenopause and menopause.

Menopause can significantly affect mental and sexual health, with symptoms such as anxiety, mood changes, fatigue, and irritability. Understanding the link between menopause, mental health, and sexual wellbeing helps women navigate this transition more effectively. Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (CBT) is an evidence-based approach that challenges unhelpful thoughts and builds strategies to manage symptoms. This presentation will explore how CBT can be integrated into a biopsychosocial treatment plan for women experiencing perimenopause and menopause.

It will also focus on the role of pelvic health physiotherapy in managing pelvic pain and sexual dysfunction. We’ll outline the care pelvic health physios provide, the types of clients who benefit, and the complex factors contributing to sexual dysfunction. The session will highlight challenges health professionals face when discussing these sensitive issues and offer practical insights for improving client outcomes through collaborative, holistic care.
