EarTrain, delivered by TAFE NSW, is a free training program helping primary health professionals identify and manage hearing conditions such as otitis media in Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities.

Funded by the Australian Government under the Closing the Gap initiative, the program offers a flexible blend of online learning and face-to-face workshops. Participants gain practical skills to perform hearing assessments, manage ear health conditions, and improve patient outcomes.

Health professionals also receive mentorship from experienced audiologists and clinicians, building confidence and capacity to deliver quality hearing care where it’s needed most.

This November and December, EarTrain workshops will be delivered in several towns across Western Australia, giving local health professionals the opportunity to upskill and strengthen hearing health care within their own communities.
