Managing Patient Depression and Suicidality: GP Peer Group Learning | Various Locations
An ideal opportunity to have open, honest discussions with colleagues, a psychiatrist and local GP with a special interest in mental health care, about the management of patient depression and suicidality in primary care. 2 hour, case-based conversation over a shared meal.
The peer meetings extend previous workshops and GP Management of Patient Depression and Suicidality online modules, and offer:
Direct, in-person Q&A and discussion with an experienced psychiatrist
Practical strategies for managing complex mental health presentations, grounded in local clinical experiences
Greater confidence in assessment and prescribing decisions
Updated information on local referral pathways and service
Increased local, collegial support
In collaboration with AHCWA, EarTrain is delivering a workshops across Western Australia in May 2026.
These workshops will provide practical skills in: otoscopy, tympanometry, an introduction to hearing screening, screening otoacoustic emissions and referral Pathways
This Rural Health West CPD workshop is designed to assist health professionals to develop and practise skills essential in unexpected crises, particularly with problem airways. Delivered in WA Country Health Service facilities, this workshop has a heavy emphasis on teamwork and the organisation of medical emergency teams incorporating presentations, skill stations and scenario-based crises with simulation manikins (SimMan and baby).

Join Associate Professor Chris Judkins for a practical session on investigating chest pain in primary care, with clear guidance on who to test, when to act, and which investigations to choose. This session will help clinicians confidently risk stratify patients, recognise urgent red flags, and select the most appropriate initial cardiac tests.

Seng Khee is a graduate of the University of Western Australia, with physician and specialist training in Endocrinology. He completed his PhD research in human insulin physiology at the
Garvan Institute before returning to Perth to commence his position as an Endocrinologist at Royal Perth Hospital in 2002 where he continues currently, including a 12-year role as previous Head of Department.
As an Associate Professor in his Clinical Academic role at the University of Western Australia, Seng has research interests in diabetes complications and is involved with the UWA MD program in the areas of clinical skills development and assessment. His interests also extend into supporting new models of service delivery and improving access to care for patients with diabetes.
Rural Emergency Advanced Clinical Training (REACT+) | Esperance
The Rural Health West CPD REACT+ workshop is designed to assist Western Australian Visiting Medical Practitioners to maintain their emergency knowledge and skills, and gain formal assessment towards their emergency credentialing, as required by WA Country Health Service. Covering medical emergencies, major trauma and cardiac arrest in adults and children, and associated lifesaving procedural skills training, REACT+ is a highly interactive workshop. Participants are provided with audio-visual pre-learning materials and the course consists almost entirely of small group practical skills stations and simulated scenarios.
